The Ketogenic Diet (aka. Keto Diet) is a low-carb, high-fat diet for weight loss that limits roughly 30 net grams of carb intake per day to reach fat-burning state of ketosis. When our body reaches ketosis state, it relies on fat and ketones instead of glucose for energy. Keto forbids carb-rich foods found in starchy, sugary and processed junk foods that are common to our everyday diet. It also firmly limits fruits, grains, and legumes.
